MGC on Topstep.
I currently use MGC for my Gold Futures work on Topstep. Gold remains my primary market, and the futures account is another environment in which I apply the same core execution process.
The contract and prop-firm environment are different from spot Gold on FTMO evaluations. My actual setup logic and entry sequence are not.
Execution remains the same.
I do not use a separate entry model simply because the product is a futures contract. I continue to trade the Trending Range Reversal - Pro Trend setup.
The starting context remains an overextension to the external end of a regression trend. I then require lower-timeframe market structure to shift and a Candle Behaviour Reversal to form within the hourly candle.
- External regression-trend overextension.
- Lower-timeframe market-structure shift.
- Candle Behaviour Reversal within the hourly candle.
The combine is part of the experiment.
I am trialling different Topstep combine sizes to understand which structure gives me the best balance of payout consistency and return on investment.
This is an active test rather than a finished conclusion. The variable is the combine size and its economics, not a change to the trading setup.
The same dynamic risk framework.
Risk remains linked to account state and remaining risk balance. I do not increase or reduce risk merely because execution is taking place in MGC rather than XAUUSD.
The daily limit remains one or two trades. This protects the account and keeps the decision process consistent across Gold products.
Management does not change.
I do not take partial profits. Small wins and small losses are classified as breakeven in my analysis so the review stays focused on meaningful outcomes and execution quality.
The purpose of the Gold Futures work is not to create a second identity or a second strategy. It is to apply the same process in the Topstep environment while measuring which combine structure supports consistent payouts and efficient use of capital.
